Daily Devotional – 1/15/19 “God got it!”

Fear will make a grown man cry. Fear will make a woman do things she wouldn’t ordinarily do. Fear will cause things not to go according to plan. Fear will cause us to die, prematurely. Fear of no paycheck will have your thoughts wandering. You want to know something though? Fear only has the power we give it. You don’t have to believe me but be the person wanting on the results of blood work and see if fear will not have you going stir crazy. You’ll start looking up your symptoms and WebMD will have you dying. You’ll be worried and concerned about something that hasn’t even happened yet. Let the meteorologist say bad weather and the entire city is frantically clearing off the shelves of the local grocery story. Think you’ve lost or left your phone somewhere or think you’ve misplaced your bank card and see if fear will not have you panicked. More than that, fear of the unknown is even more paralyzing. I’m a witness even though I trust God, fear still lingers because that’s what fear does. Well, no more! No more fear holding us hostage, fear is not our portion. We shall walk in the abundance grace of God and trust Him. Yea, I know the government is shutdown but Heaven is still open. I know government workers are on day 25 but God’s power still works. I know you are looking at your natural but can I get you to trust God?

Here what the bible shares in Leviticus 25:20-21, after God told Moses to tell the people of Israel they shall not work the fields for an entire Sabbath year; God says, “You may ask, “What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?” I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.” Beloved, stop looking at what you think is the source of your survival when God is the resource of the source! You’re depending on the job, people, places and things and looking at the President’s actions when God says, in Psalm 37:1-9 (NIV), “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.” The righteous and the faithful, you will not lack. In fact, God will use the wicked to feed, clothe and provide everything you need during your need. Don’t fear it and don’t fight it; faith it!

Daily Devotional – 5/12/16 “It comes with the anointing!”

If you’ve never toiled in the spirit, I would imagine you wouldn’t know what it feels like. AnointingI would assume you haven’t gotten to the point where the deeper you get rooted, the harder your trials. I would speculate that if you’ve never been tried in the spirit, you don’t know what it feels like to be persecuted for doing right. If you never been tormented in the spirit, I would guess that you don’t know what it means to be standing in between oh Lord and God have mercy. Beloved, if you’ve yet to be mistreated in the spirit, you don’t know what it is to hold your head up when all you want to do is cry, run and hide. Please understand, I am not trying to scare you but what I am trying to get you to understand is this …it comes with the anointing! It does and the more you plant yourself in God, the more the enemy tries to pluck you out. The more you study, the more obstacles you’ll seem to stumble over. The more you preach, the more you’ll be pushed against. The more you worship, the more the enemy will try to make you weep. The more you encourage, the more the enemy enters. The more you pray, the more the enemy preys. Oh, but baby don’t fret because the bible says in Psalm 37:1-2, “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.”

In Lakisha’s words; don’t worry about those who seek to cause evil against you because they are only for a moment and soon they’ll be gone like the grass you mow or wither away like cut flowers. Chile! I don’t know about you but this devotional is blessing me down to the soles of my feet. See, you don’t have to get upset when those you know are evildoers show up. You don’t have to agonize over what kind of mess they are trying to stir up today because they won’t always be there. Haven’t you heard what God says in Isaiah 54:17? Well it says, “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper.” Usually this is where this scripture stop (when anyone refers to it) but it continues on to say, “And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.” So you see, what’s there to concern yourself with? Yes; you will be pierced, tried, tormented, persecuted, hurt and all other kinds of things; in the spirit but you’ve got to toughen up and stick it out. Your pain is serving in parallel with your purpose. All you have to do is stand, speak, stick out and serve; God will handle the rest. Everything you go through is part of the process and serving God through it will pay off but that’s only if you’re willing to serve Him in ALL parts; the good and the bad, the hurt and the help, the love and the lost, the pain and the praise. Because it all comes with the anointing!
