Daily Devotional – 8/14/19 “Keep Waiting.”

I’m sharing this on both blogs today because I need to encourage somebody, to keep waiting. When I got ready to re-release #ASecretWorthKeeping, I was hesitant. For one, it has six characters and two, I was changing the book from it’s original form. Y’all … the response to #WhentheVowsBreak has surpassed my wildest imagination. I wish I could tell you there was a magic formula (there isn’t). I wish I could tell you there was a specific ad or promo that did it (I can’t). I wish I could tell you the right keywords (I can’t).

What I can tell you is this … God is amazing. He’s allowed me to be supported by people, in states and countries; I’ve never met yet you purchase every book. God allows me to use Him (He’s okay with it) on the pages of books, to get people to see and feel Him. #byanymeansnecessary

Y’all, writing is part of my purpose. This is why I don’t bash those who don’t support, they will one day. I’ve stopped complaining and started praying more. And, here’s the hardest part, I’ve started waiting, patiently. Waiting on what God has for me, in every area of my life.

For somebody who is looking at the seeds you’ve sown and they haven’t bloomed yet, keep waiting. For somebody who is looking at their business and it hasn’t sprouted yet, keep waiting. For somebody who is thinking about throwing in the towel, keep waiting. For somebody who has been waiting, this may hurt to hear but you’ve got to keep waiting YOUR TURN. It’s like when you’re sitting in the DMV and you’re looking at that ticket in your hand that says A12 and they’re just on A68 (which means they have to go all the way through to 99 just to start over and get to you) but eventually, your number will be called. WHEN IT’S YOUR TIME.

Trust God’s process, even when you don’t understand. If what you’re doing, is part of your purpose, there will be moments of hurt, pain, lack and everything else you can think of. However, if you wait, working while you wait, trust while you wait, prepare while you wait, faith it while you wait and believe while you wait; it’ll pay off.

Dear God,
Forgive me for being impatient with my purpose. Forgive me for rushing your process. From this moment, I’m going to wait in and on you, while you renew my strength. And while I’m waiting, I’ll thank you, in advance, for what you’re going to do. Amen.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

Daily Devotional – 9/4/12 “What are you waiting on? “

I mean you know that relationship you’re in isn’t progressing, so why are you staying? You know that job isn’t taking you anywhere, so why aren’t you looking for something better? You know that car isn’t worth the money you’re dumping into it, so stop! You know that you haven’t felt good in days, so why should someone have to beg you to take your grown butt to the doctor? Why are you procrastinating on doing what you know you should be doing? Is it fear, then that means your communication to God is broken because he says in Matthew 8:26 “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Is it because you’re scared of falling? God says in Proverbs 24:16, “for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again.” Is it because you’re afraid that you’ll be alone? Well God promised in Hebrews 13:5 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Yea, keep waiting until you buy some clothes for church to get back in church because the next time you get there it maybe by way of the funeral home. See, God isn’t concerned about your shoes matching your belt or whether the dress/suit you have on is name brand because He is simply concerned about your spirit and if your spirit was right, fleshly stuff wouldn’t matter as much to you anyway. Well, Romans 8:5 says, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.” Yea, keep waiting on him or her to change before you get your happiness back because the next time you see it may be standing at Heaven’s gates when Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” I know, you’re saved but you’re waiting on your husband/wife to get saved before you join church and work on God’s side but 1 Corinthians 7:13-17 says, “And if a Christian woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to continue living with her, she must not leave him. For the Christian wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the Christian husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not be holy, but now they are holy. But if the husband or wife who isn’t a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the Christian husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace. Don’t you wives realize that your husbands might be saved because of you? And don’t you husbands realize that your wives might be saved because of you? Each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches.” See, when you’re saved and doing the right things, the right way, for God, it covers your whole house! Believe me when I say this; if you are walking God’s path and His changes are evident in you, the unbeliever will soon be willing to meet the person who has changed you for themselves, so let them see it.

Stop waiting for things to come to you, go get what you want. If you want a college degree, go get it. If you want a new dress (and you’re able to afford it) go get it. If you know you need a part time job to get out of debt, go get it! If you need help for your grieving, go get it. If you need medicine for your sickness, go get it. What are you waiting on? If you know your house needs fixing, do it. If your car needs new tires, don’t wait until you have a blow out that can kill you, change them! Stop waiting and wasting time. The only person you should be waiting on is God because it says in Isaiah 40:31, “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” The only vision (plan) you should be waiting on is God’s plan for you because Habakkuk 2:3 says, “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

God is a just God and He will give you the desires of your heart, if you wait on Him; not on man. Stop waiting for this and for that which may not be what you want, for tomorrow which may never come or for your next birthday you may not see. Do the things that you should be or that you want to do now because you may not get another chance too. Tell folks you love them and mean it. Help folks without them having to beg and enjoy it. Give without expecting it back (if you’re able too). Live like this day is your last because it might just be. Stop waiting and be willing. Stop waiting and start walking. Stop waiting and be a right now witness. Stop waiting and start working on your vision. Stop waiting and start … whatever it is your heart desires to do. God has made you the head of your life, so live it!
