Daily Devotional – 12/2/15 “How are you living?”

Lookahere, I know you are striving to get to Heaven but you’ve got to be some earthly good, too. See, I can write every devotional on how good Heaven has been described (streets paved with gold, you got a mansion with the deed in your name, trees with fruit for the healing of your body, etc.) but if I don’t tell you about your living, on earth, how can you possible get there to see it? It’s not about how well you recite scriptures but it is about how real you are. It’s not about the degrees with your name on it but it’s about the degree you’re willing to go, to serve God in your assignment. It’s not about the money in the bank but it’s about the gratitude of your giving. It’s not about who you love but it’s all about how you love. Beloved, how can you expect to make it to see God when you don’t even take the time to make it to see grandma? How can you expect to worship all day in Heaven when you won’t even get up to worship on Sunday? How can you possibly be used later if you aren’t worth nothing now?

Chile, you’ve got to get it together. Stop with the, ‘I’ll go to church when I get myself together’ because it’ll never happen on your own. Break the, ‘I’ll do it and repent later’ because you’re becoming a sinful mess. Quit with, ‘if God bless me with this car, I’ll be in church every Sunday’ when you know it’s a bold face lie. Cut out the ‘the pastor just want all my money’ because tithes and offering is for the up keep of the church and building of the ministry. Notice I said tithes and offering, all that extra is a personal decision so don’t blame the messenger of God when that stuff was in place before he or she got there. All I’m saying is this, be worthy of who you are. I get it, folk ought to take you or leave you but beloved, there is a way to do and say all things. I don’t mind you not biting your tongue but watch your tone. I don’t mind you speaking your mind but mind what you say. There’s a way to criticize in love. The sad reality is, there’s a lot of ‘Christian’ folk on the list to hell, if you don’t get your stuff together. God isn’t pleased with our service or how we serve. Your devotion should remain to be the best in whatever position you play, in the body of Christ. Be worthy of who you are!

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.” Matthew 7:21
